The first multi-disciplinary centre in Nigeria dedicated to cyberspace studies. It is established to undertake R&D, develop and build essential e-skills for the evolving fields of cyberspace. The Centre aims to develop relationships and collaborate with various cyber-focused research, education, and training communities within the African continent and other relevant research groups across the globe. The Centre is governed by eleven man board including Nigerian Communications Commission and Zinox Computers.
The Centre shall be the fulfilment of the aspiration for a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in cyberspace studies through research, development and innovations.
Research activities are focused on the general area of Cyber Governance including Cybersecurity, Cybercrime, Regulation and Compliance, Social Media Networks, Internet of Things (IoT), etc. Our goal is to drive and actualise global, regional and national thinking and aspirations on cyberspace through formal research and innovations. Our focused e-skills training and course are geared towards bridging the skill gaps thereby building strong digital people and skills.
Our partners include LINK Centre, University of Witwatersrand Johannesburg, South Africa, Defence Space Agency, etc. We are affiliated to Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association (AFCEA), USA.
